Possible Storms Friday And Heat Index In The 100s Saturday: NWS
The National Weather Service gave some tips on how to stay cool as heat index values reach into the 100s Saturday.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The National Weather Service reports the risk of storms with damaging winds and heavy rainfall for southern Wisconsin Friday. The weather service anticipates a heat advisory Saturday as heat index values are expected to hit the lower 100s.
The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook Friday, saying showers and thunderstorms are expected over parts of central Wisconsin through the morning. Another round of thunderstorms is possible in the night, which could include damaging winds and hail.
Heat index values will sit between 100 and 105 Saturday, the weather service said.

J.J. Wood, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service office based in Milwaukee, said it's important to check on those susceptible with heat-related illness as temperatures rise.

- Remain in air conditioned rooms if possible.
- Take frequent breaks if working outdoors.
- Limit strenuous activity if working outdoors.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Wear loose and light-colored clothing.
Here's the three day forecast for this coming weekend.
Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 102. Southwest wind around 10 mph.
Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers between 1am and 4am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Mostly clear, with a low around 74. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%
