Trump, Biden Returning To Wisconsin On Friday

MADISON, WI— President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden will both be campaigning in Wisconsin on Friday.

Trump will hold a rally on Friday in Green Bay, the Trump Campaign announced on Wednesday. This will be his third stop in the Badger state in one week. The president held a rally in La Crosse on Tuesday and was in Waukesha on Saturday.

Vice President Mike Pence is holding a rally in central Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to campaign in Wisconsin on Friday but his campaign hasn't stated where.

The two campaigns will hit the state as it deals with a record surge of coronavirus cases.

On Wednesday, the No. 9 Wisconsin football team canceled its game at Nebraska on Saturday and paused all team activities for at least seven days after a dozen people within the program including coach Paul Chryst tested positive for COVID-19.

On Tuesday, the state Department of Health Services reported a record 5,262 positive coronavirus tests. It is the first time more than 5,000 cases have been reported on a single day. Wisconsin now has 206,311 coronavirus cases and 1,852 deaths.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said during a teleconference on Tuesday that people should stay in their homes and limit their interactions to their immediate family.

"If people stay at home, we can call it whatever," Evers said. "I call it saving lives."
