A few, maybe. We can’t say how many for sure. You might acquire a bigger crowd of pups, though, if you yell the Latin word for the moon, “Luna,” which also happens to be one of the most popular dog names in Wisconsin.

That’s according to a recent analysis of customer data by The Wag, a pet care, health and training company.

The top four names nationally — Bella, Luna, Max and Charlie, respectively — appeared on the rankings of each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

If you don’t want your pooch to have the same name as all the other dogs, steer clear of these, which rose to the top 10 names for dogs in Wisconsin in 2023:

The analysis is limited to The Wag’s customers, but similar to an analysis TrustedHousesitters, a pet-sitting business, that found the top names for dogs in 2023 are Charlie, Max, Cooper, Buddy and Jack for males, and Lucy, Bella, Luna, Daisy and Lilly for females.

According to that study, Beau was the top name for male dogs in Wisconsin.
