WI Dem Sen. Tammy Baldwin Defeats Trump-Backed Challenger: AP
Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin appears to have defeated Republican challenger Eric Hovde, a millionaire banker.

MADISON, WI — Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin won a narrow victory for a third term on Tuesday, even as Donald Trump won the state in his successful bid for a second term in the White House, according to projections by the Associated Press.
Baldwin appears to have defeated Republican challenger Eric Hovde, a millionaire bank owner with ties to both Wisconsin and Orange County, California.
Democrats hammered Hovde on abortion. They also made hay out of him "living large in a $7 million mansion with ocean views" in Laguna Beach, CA.

Hovde has not conceded, as the race remains within the 1-percentage-point margin that permits him to request a recount at his expense.
As of Wednesday evening, the race showed Baldwin leading with 1,672,550 votes (49.38 percent) to Hovde's 1,643,592 votes (48.52 percent). More than 95 percent of the vote is in, the New York Times reported.
