Wisconsin Hits Over 2000 Daily Coronavirus Cases

WISCONSIN—For the first time since the pandemic hit, Wisconsin spiked to over 2,000 positive daily coronavirus cases on Thursday.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services daily tally, the newest data set an all-time high to date. According to the state's report, 2,034 people tested positive. Wednesday's data showed 1, 408 positive cases, and Tuesday had 1,348 cases. The positivity rate was 17.8% out of 11,445 total tests completed on Thursday.
The state now has 94,746 cumulative COVID-19 cases since the first case was reported in February. There have been 1,231 deaths reported.

To date, 81,902 people have recovered from the virus. There are 11,595 people who have active COVID-19 cases.
That last figure represents 10 percent of all COVID-19 cases ever reported in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin's positive case percentage has climbed steadily ever since early June — about three weeks after the Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned Gov. Tony Evers Safer At Home order, which restricted public movement, and ordered businesses closed.
