4th Of July Picnic And Parade Canceled In Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, WI—The annual 4th of July celebration is a Brookfield tradition; however, it won't go on as planned this year.

After extensive consideration, town board members said they have decided to cancel the upcoming event. The decision was made largely for safety reasons stemming from the coronavirus.

"We’re so sorry that we won’t be able to see all of the amazing parade decorations, smiling faces, or spend time together, but we’re looking forward to getting together soon," read a post on the town's official Facebook page.

According to town officials, they hope to bring back the Independence Day picnic and parade next year.
