BROOKFIELD, WI — The owner of Belair Cantina, which has six locations across Wisconsin, announced on Thursday plans to open a new French restaurant at the Corners of Brookfield.

Kristyn Eitel, who has majority stock in both the BelAir and Field Cafe Brands, plans to open Margaux in late 2023 or early 2024, according to a news release from her and the Corners. The spot will be inspired by Parisian brasseries, a type of restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere known for serving classic simple dishes. Customers can also expect a full-service bar.

It will be the first original concept for Eitel beyond acquiring other brands, according to the news release. In April of last year, a Shorewood restaurant co-owned by Eitel, HIYA Taco, closed.

“Margaux will be a restaurant that ties together some of my favorite aspects of the
hospitality industry; mainly highlights from my 30+ year career and those things that still
inspire me,” Eitel said in the news release. “I want people to fall in love with dining out all over
again; I want to bring the best of French cuisine into this modern and sophisticated,
cosmopolitan yet relaxed setting and let the food and drink inspire great experiences.”

Behind Eitel's new concept are years of travel, exploration and "relishing in fine food," the news release said. Including BelAir, which opened in 2017, Margaux will be Eitel's second restaurant at the Corners.

Robert Gould, the CEO of The Corners, commended the commercial space's partnership with Eitel and Belair, calling the restaurant "hugely popular" and rewarding.

“Bringing a French Brasserie concept to the Corners is something that Kristyn has been working on with us for a long time," said Gould in the news release. "Given the European style of our Market Square, it simply had to be located there. Its location, in the block east of the entrance to Von Maur, offers the perfect tenant mix for their flagship department store. I am confident that with Kristyn’s experience and understanding of the market, it will be well executed and another win, win for our customers.”
