• Community raises thousands of dollars to support co-owner of The Elbow Room who is in critical condition (tmj4.com) — Brookfield residents are rallying around Elbow Room co-owner Robert Jude, who is in critical condition and facing serious liver and kidney failure. Community fundraising, including a GoFundMe nearing $100,000, aims to support his family and staff at the Brookfield and Cedarburg locations. Organizers urge neighbors to follow social media for future benefit events.
   

• Jose's Blue Sombrero in the Wauwatosa Village to close before new year (jsonline.com) — If you have gift cards for Jose’s Blue Sombrero, you can still use them at Parkside 23 in Brookfield even though the Wauwatosa location is closing Dec. 27. The Mexican restaurant’s shutdown follows earlier closures in Fox Point, leaving Racine as the last Jose’s Blue Sombrero. DeRosa Corporation hasn’t commented yet on the changes.
