Brookfield Looking To Fill Vacant Aldermanic Seat

Brookfield Ald. Jeffrey McCarthy announced he's resigning from his third district seat at the end of May.

BROOKFIELD, WI — Brookfield officials are looking to fill a vacancy in one aldermanic seat after Ald. Jeffrey McCarthy announced he's resigning from his third district seat at the end of May.

Brookfield officials say the Legislative and Licensing Committee will consider applicants to
fill this vacancy at a special meeting on Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m. by conducting candidate interviews.

They will make a recommendation to the Common Council for its consideration at its meeting on June 2.

According to Brookfield meeting documents, the successful appointee will represent the third district for the remainder of Alderman McCarthy’s term, which expires April 20, 2022.

To be eligible to serve, an candidate must be a U.S. citizen and a Brookfield resident living in the third aldermanic district.

Anyone who is interested should submit a cover letter and resume to City Clerk Kelly Michaels by May 20. Materials can be submitted in person or via mail at City Hall at 2000 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield, WI 53005 or by email to michaels@ci.brookfield.wi.us.
