Brookfield's Sanju Reddy Peddagorla Named Presidential Scholar

District officials say that Sanju is the fifth Elmbrook student to be named a Presidential Scholar in the last four years.

BROOKFIELD, WI — Sanju Reddy Peddagorla, a senior at Brookfield East High School, has been named a U.S. Presidential Scholar for Wisconsin.

District officials say that Sanju is the fifth Elmbrook student to be named a Presidential Scholar in the last four years, the most of any School District in the Country during that time period.

Of more than 5,300 candidates who qualified for the 2020 awards, Sanju was selected as one of
two students honored from Wisconsin and one of 161 Presidential Scholars chosen in the
U.S.

This year’s recipients will be recognized this summer as public health circumstances permit,
Education Department officials said. Recent Presidential Scholars from Elmbrook include:

2020 - Sanju Reddy Peddagorla, Brookfield East
2019 - Namitha Alexander, Brookfield East
2018 - Julian Rhee, Brookfield East; Sophia Sun, Brookfield Central
2017 - Colin Gray-Hoehn, Brookfield East
