Burglar Sentenced to 5 More Years Prison

The man is already serving time for another crime; his sentence in connection with the 2010 burglary also includes probation.

A man already serving time in prison was sentenced Friday to more time for a pair of home burglaries in November 2010 in Brookfield.

Lance A. Nehmer, 41, was sentenced to five years prison and five years extended supervision for the two counts of burglary; he must also pay restitution to the victims, according to court records. Nehmer is already a resident of Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, having been found guilty in 2011 on three counts of burglary in two separate cases and sentenced to five years in prison.

According to the complaint, both Brookfield burglaries took place Nov. 17, 2010. Police were first called to the 16000 block of Siesta Lane at 4:54 p.m., after a homeowner reported someone had entered the house by force and taken a laptop. The victim told police it appeared the perpetrator also tried to make off with a wall-mounted TV, but failed.

Just over two hours later, a different Brookfield officer responded to the 2000 block of Rockway Lane West for another forced entry. The homeowner reported missing some cash, a fire safe containing savings bonds, and jewelry.

According to the complaint, Nehmer was interviewed and admitted to both the Brookfield burglaries, as well as involvement in an Elm Grove burglary and several in Milwaukee County.
