'We're Excited For What's To Come': Brookfield Froyo Shop Closes After Decade

BROOKFIELD, WI — A frozen yogurt shop at the Ruby Isle in Brookfield will close after 10 years of business and make way for a new ice cream shop, owners announced on Monday.

Yo Mama, located at 2205 N. Calhoun Rdoad, will have its last day of business on Saturday, the owners announced. The location in Wauwatosa will stay open.

"While it has been an extremely tough decision to make, we are excited for what's to come," the owners said in a Facebook post.

Scratch Ice Cream will move into the Ruby Isle location, the owners said. The ice cream shop is set to open June 1.

The frozen yogurt shop will still accept gift cards at its Wauwatosa and Brookfield locations, the owners added.

"We will miss all of you that have become friends over the past 10 years, but hopefully you will come visit us in Tosa," the shop said in a statement.

When the store opened in 2012, owner Becky Berger called the Ruby Isle the "perfect" spot. "It's at the center of the community. We're so excited to be part of Brookfield," Berger added.
