Man Accesses Child Pornography While Father Attends Church, Police Say

Ralph A. Hoak, 48, already convicted of child pornography possession, tells investigators he stopped watching the porn because "I realized it was wrong," according to a criminal complaint.

A 48-year-old Hartland man, already convicted of possessing child pornography, is accused of using his father’s computer to access child pornography while his father attended church services.

Ralph A. Hoak was charged Monday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with two counts of possessing child pornography. He faces up to 30 years in prison and $200,000 in fines if convicted. He remains jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Investigators with the Brookfield Police Department say Hoak dowload the child pornography between December and January at a Brookfield home while his father was at church, according to a criminal complaint. He was reported to authorities after being seen using Facebook and asking for help downloading videos from a pornography website.
