St. Patrick's Day Events Around Town: 3-Mile Run, Music, Food, Drinks, More

It's St. Patrick's Day and maybe you haven't made any plans. Patch has a great cheat sheet of local options for you, mostly culled from Facebook pages. ("Like" Brookfield Patch on Facebook)

We found a 3-mile run, food, drinks, recipes, music and much more. (Hint: isn't open yet in Brookfield but the Tosa location will have Irish Mint froyo, recommended with fudge and Oreos.) Enjoy!

: Live music by Left On Sunset starting at 9:30 p.m. Downstairs in Bullwinkle's banquet hall, The Piles of Rhythm will be playing for charity from 7 to 11 p.m. Cost is $10 a person and all proceeds benefit the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.

: Open patio and special menu including Cabbage Rolls, a vegan Shepherds’ Garden Pie, and Triple Chocolate Cake.

Shepherd’s Pie: Ground beef, onion, celery, mushrooms and peas in a demi-glaze topped with mashed potatoes. Seafood Lovers: Irish Salmon. Fresh salmon marinated in Irish whiskey, apple cider and baked until moist and flaky. And Guinness Chocolate Cake.

O'Donoghue's Irish Pub: Opens at 7 a.m. Irish breakfast and live music all day, including the Curtis Crossroads Band at 1 p.m., Ceol Cairde at 4:30 p.m. and Blarney at 7 p.m.

: Opens at 10 a.m. Giving away T-shirts to the first 50 customers, bagpipers and green beer

: Its Facebook page has drink recipes for popular Irish beverages, including a 3-layered colorful drink that looks like the Irish Flag:

First, pour the crème de menthe into a glass. Next, slowly pour the Bailey’s Irish cream over the back of a spoon so that it floats on top of the Creme de Menthe. Finally, slowly pour the Grand Marnier over the back of the spoon so that it floats on top of the Bailey’s Irish creme and voilà!
Ingredients:
1/3 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream (Bailey’s)
1/3 oz green crème de menthe
1/3 oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur (some use Butterscotch Schnapps)
