Waukesha County COVID-19 Case Percentage Dips To New Low

According to health officials, there were 52 new cases reported on May 27, which more than doubled the previous high set on April 3.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — After a one-day spike in confirmed COVID-19 cases in Waukesha County, health officials reported the number of cases, and the positive test percentage have gone back down.

According to health officials, there were 52 new cases reported on May 27, which more than doubled the previous high set on April 3.

In the week since that new high, daily new case counts returned to between 15-20 new cases per day. The case counts were considerably lower over the weekend, with six cases reported Saturday and nine on Sunday.

According to county data, the percentage of positive COVID-19 cases among all tests has been in steady decline over the last 14 days. After positive test results spiked on May 26 at 7.3 percent, case counts dipped to 2.6 percent on Monday and 1.3 percent on Tuesday.

Waukesha County officials said the county currently has 155 active COVID-19 cases, with 542 recoveries and 31 deaths from COVID-19.

Waukesha still has by far the most confirmed cases as of Wednesday with 246 total confirmed cases. The village of Menomonee Falls has 86 total cases, the city of New Berlin has 70 total cases and the city Brookfield reported 58 total cases.
