When Love Comes Barking at Your Door, Don't Answer

Woman's yearning pets attract a lusty suitor, and feeling besieged, she calls on officers to intervene.

A woman was briefly a prisoner in her own home when she feared for her safety while a loose, lovestruck dog paid her pooches a visit and wouldn't leave.

At 6:08 p.m. March 5, the resident of the 2900 block of Lilly Road called police to say she was trapped in her home. She said her unspayed female dogs were in heat, and there was an apparently fully equipped male pit bull at her door.

The dog wouldn't go away, she said, and she was afraid that if she tried to leave, the pit bull would attack her to try to get in. She was asked if the dog had a collar, and she told them it did.

Officers cautiously approached the animal, found it perfectly amicable, and were able to check its tags.

The pit bull’s owner was contacted, and he assured everyone concerned that his dog was quite friendly and only looking for love. He arrived shortly to retrieve the pooch.
