1. Rogers Behavioral Health to open behavioral health hospital in Chippewa Falls (spectrumnews1.com) — A new Rogers Behavioral Health hospital is coming to Chippewa Falls, bringing inpatient, residential, and outpatient mental health services for children, teens, and adults to a wooded 18-acre campus. Backed by $10 million in state funding, the project responds to higher-than-average local suicide rates and promises new jobs, local construction work, and expanded care options for the Chippewa Valley and northwestern Wisconsin.
   

2. WI County Creates EMS Ad Hoc Committee to Aid Municipalities (jems.com) — Chippewa County is forming an Ad Hoc EMS Study Committee that includes Chippewa Falls officials to tackle rising call volumes, staffing shortages, and the fallout from St. Joseph’s Hospital closing in Chippewa Falls. The county board meets tonight at the courthouse on N. Bridge Street to officially create the group, review finances, and set up a special fund to better manage future election costs.
   

3. More than $159M allocated to 29 municipalities for safe drinking water (weau.com) — Chippewa Falls is set to receive more than $1.9 million to replace lead service lines, helping ensure safer drinking water for local homes and businesses. The funding, part grant and part ultra-low-interest loan from the state’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program, comes alongside similar awards to Thorp and Rice Lake, but Chippewa Falls receives one of the larger allocations.
   

4. Changes coming to the Chippewa Falls SpringFest (weau.com) — Chippewa Falls’ SpringFest is shifting to a one-night indoor concert at Loopy’s Grill & Saloon’s Event Dome on Saturday, May 3, 2026, instead of a multi-day fairgrounds festival. Organizers say the change should avoid weather disruptions while still raising money for Rotary-supported community programs, with local bands The Hype and Mach1 headlining the revamped celebration.
   

5. Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital receives 750K donation to help with operations (wqow.com) — A new cooperative hospital project serving Chippewa County, based in Chippewa Falls and moving to Lake Hallie, just received a combined $750,000 donation from Rutledge Charities and the Casper Foundation. The funds support reopening efforts at the future state-of-the-art facility, which plans to relocate from the old St. Joseph’s building to its new site in 2028 and is working toward a $50 million fundraising goal.
