The Citizen's Police Academy, run by the Fox Point, Bayside and River Hill's Police Departments is short on students this year and cannot run without a few more people.
The academy starts on Oct. 6 and runs through Nov. 17. Classes are held at the from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with one Saturday class on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the .
Topics will include recruitment and hiring, training, crime scene investigation, Operating While Intoxicated enforcement, firearms, use of force, traffic stops, and a ride along. If you live or work in the villages of Fox Point, River Hills or Bayside and are 21 years old or older, you are eligible to attend. The Citizens Police Academy is free to attend and hands-on participation is not required.

Currently, there are about three people who have signed up, however, there needs to be at least 10 people to run the class.
