Staff of President's Commitee Choses Nicolet Senior's Art

In addition to earning three Medals - one gold, one silver and the best in the state of Wisconsin - in the 2011 National Scholastic Art Awards, senior,
Leo Purman’s gold medal award winning artwork “Toshiba Joe” has been selected by the staff of The President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities to be included in a special exhibition of national award recipient work from the
Scholastic Awards.

This year, 44 works will be displayed in the offices of their building in Washington D.C. A special ribbon cutting ceremony for the exhibit was held on Sept. 14 at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building.

John Sigmund, Manager of National Programs for the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers stated in his letter to Leo, “We are honored to present your art as an example of the very best creative work by our nation’s emerging artists.”
