Bayside 'Boogeyman' Cited for Scaring Little Kids

After being warned before, 55-year-old continued to frighten young children.

While waiting with their children for the school bus, two Bayside moms in the 8600 block of North Greenvale Road called the police after a neighbor repeatedly scared their children with comments about the boogeyman.

According to the police report:

Around 8:15 a.m. Sept. 9, one of the moms called after a 55-year-old man who lives on the same block walked by with his dog and told the children that there were going to be eaten and that he was the "boogeyman."

Both moms told police the man regularly scares their children and they believe he purposely harasses them with his comments while they wait for the bus.

An officer had already warned the man about harassing the neighbors on Sept. 7, and for scaring the children while they waited for the bus.

Officers went to the man’s house, and while they could hear he was inside, he would not answer the door. Police mailed a citation for disorderly conduct, with a $681 fine, to his home.

The report says that dispatched advised the officers that the man had called the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office to advise that Bayside police were at his house and they intended to do him harm.
