Bus Slides Off Ellsworth Lane

A school bus slid off the road near the intersection of Ellsworth Lane and Pelham Parkway today in Bayside, just outside Bayside Middle School. As of 10:30 a.m., the bus was still partially blocking the road. It appears to have slid and turned to nearly a 45-degree angle. Police have blocked westbound Ellsworth Lane with cones, but vehicles are still able to travel from Ellsworth Lane onto Pelham Parkway, both north and south. UPDATE: Bayside Middle School principal, Don Galster, confirms there were no children on the bus when it left the road.
