Crime Corner: Homeless Man Loses Bindle, Worthless Checks and Too Many Shots for This Teen

Reports from the Fox Point and Bayside police departments.

found a Menomonee Falls man teetering around on his bike in the wee hours of Sunday morning and wondered what he was up to. He told them he was looking for his bindle, a black backpack that he'd left on the patio furniture where he slept the previous night, but couldn't remember where the home was. Police had a pretty good idea where to find his backpack, though.

A woman in the 9000 block of Tennyson Drive had called police when she woke up Saturday morning to find a backpack on her back patio furniture.

Inside the backpack, police found clothing, a deflated air mattress, two flashlights and two cans of WD-40 inside the bag. There was also a wallet lying on top of the backpack with an identification card in it, however the owner was no where to be found. So, officers took the backpack into custody and now have it at the police department.

Later the following morning, Bayside police stopped a 49-year-old Menomonee Falls man at 2:20 a.m. and 4:10 a.m. for riding his bicycle without any lights on. The first time, he asked for directions to Bradley Road. The second time, officers provided him transportation to the Fox Point/Whitefish Bay village border. He was later stopped by both of those police departments as well.

He explained that he had been intoxicated earlier and passed out on somebody's porch. He had left the backpack behind and was riding around trying to find the house where he left it. He told officers he only knew that he could see the lake and that the house was on top of a hill.
