Fox Point Resident Fights for Her Life

Bone marrow drive held this weekend to help Fox Point resident Anne Schumaker.

Anne Schumaker was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Leukemia in February and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. On Saturday, her family and friends are asking everyone to band together and help Anne fight this disease by simply donating a basic cheek swab at from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"Anne has worked tiredlessly with children with learning disabilites, ADHD, emotional issues, and she specializes in dyslexic students," said Lisa Chase, a long-time friend of Anne's. "She has two boys, one at UWM, the other is a 10th-grader at . She currently is working in the learning center at University School. Anne is always there for her friends, elderly neighbors and people she works with. There is NO ONE that she has ever met that still isn't a loving, caring friend of hers."

A cheek swab is all it takes to see if you may be a match to help save this mother's life.
