Fox Point to Hire New Village Manager

The Fox Point Village Board is slated to hire Melissa Bohse as its new village manager during a Village Board meeting Tuesday night.

Bohse comes to Fox Point after two years as assistant city manager in Mequon. Prior to that, Bohse worked for six to seven years as a management analyst in Woodridge, Ill. – a western Chicago suburb located not far from where she grew up in Batavia, Ill.

Bohse received her undergraduate degree from Augustana College and her Masters in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University.

Although she spent her childhood years in Batavia, she originally hails from the Wausau area. She said she decided to come to Wisconsin two years ago to be closer to her family.

After two years in Mequon, Bohse said she is familiar with Fox Point and is excited to be part of the community. Her salary is $95,000 excluding benefits, and her start date is July 29.

"It's a very well-managed community with hard-working, dedicated staff and a hard-working, dedicated group of elected officials," Bohse said. "Fox Point has a wonderful quality of life, and I'm excited to help maintain that."
