Legacies Ltd. Of Fox Point To Close In December

FOX POINT, WI — Legacies, the longstanding antique consignment shop on Port Washington Road known for its extensive collection of furniture, knickknacks and more, is closing, the store announced on its website.

The shop was marked by a year-round display of "Happy Holiday" string lights that never seemed to come down even though they were only illuminated during the winter. The store's days aren't completely over, though. Owners still plan on doing estate sales, according to the Legacies website.

"We have lost our lease," store owners wrote on their website.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel first reported the news on Wednesday.

The store was a mainstay of antiques in the North Shore for about 30 years. The property's landlord has sold the land, though, so the resale showroom at 7922 N Port Washington Road will be closing.

"On behalf of myself and the entire Legacies staff, it has been a great honor and pleasure working with you," the owner wrote on its website.

While the showroom plans to close in December, many of the services offered by Legacies Ltd will remain. Learn more about the changeup at the business's website.
