NSFD Report: Car Accident and A Fire That Just Wouldn't Go Out

The latest reports from the North Shore Fire Department.

The responded to a total of 112 calls for service, 78 EMS calls, and 34 fire and rescue calls from Jan. 9 to 15 throughout the North Shore.

Here is a summary of the calls from Fox Point, Bayside, Whitefish Bay and Shorewood.

Fox Point

  • Two Fox Point residents were involved in a car accident on East Green Tree Road in Glendale around 1 p.m. on Jan. 9. One of the vehicles required special tools to pry open the door. Both women were transported to the hospital.

Bayside

  • NSFD responded to a total of two false fire alarms and three false carbon monoxide alarms.

Whitefish Bay

  • A resident in the 5200 block of North Lake Drive had a oven fire that just wouldn't go out. Fire fighters arrived just before 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 to find the resident had tried to turn on the oven and the element started on fire. The resident had tried using a fire extinguisher, but the fire just wouldn't go out. NSFD disconnected the power to the stove and put out the fire.
  • A woman struck a tree on North Lake Drive around 11:30 p.m. Friday. The report says her injuries were minor.

Shorewood

  • NSFD responded to a total of three false fire alarms and no false carbon monoxide alarms.
