NSFD Report: Too Much Powder After a Shower, False Alarms and More
The latest reports from the North Shore Fire Department.

The responded to a total of 116 calls for service, 77 EMS calls, and 39 fire and rescue calls from Oct. 17 to 123 throughout the North Shore.
Here is a summary of the calls from Fox Point, Bayside, Whitefish Bay and Shorewood.
Fox Point

- Around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, a mother in the 7000 block of North Belmont Lane explained to fire fighters that there was no fire or emergency, just a false alarm when her son used too much body powder after showering.
- A large branch fell on some arcing wires in the 1600 block of East Fox Lane around 6:53 p.m. on Oct. 19. The active wires fell to the ground and NSFD stayed on scene until WE Energies arrived to fix the wires.
- Power lines on Green Tree Road, just East of Lake Drive, were broken from a falling tree limb. blocked off the area and traffic was temporairly diverted.
Bayside
- At 8 a.m. Oct. 17, there was a false alarm in the lobby of the . The manager said they were testing the alarm system.
Whitefish Bay

- NSFD responded to a call for arcing power lines in the 5000 block of North Berkeley Boulevard around 6:11 p.m. on Oct. 19. This left "a string of homes on the west side of Berkeley" without power. WE Energies was called to remedy the power issue.
- At 7:35 a.m. on Oct. 20, there was a downed power line in the 5600 block of North Shore Drive.
- At 6:49 p.m. on Oct. 20, a pedestrian was hit by a car on North Marlborough Drive. The pedestrian said she was hit at a very slow speed and was never knocked to the ground.
- NSFD was called to the 4700 block of North Berkeley Road at 11:47 a.m. on Oct. 23 and found everyone evacuated from the home. Fire fighters found an answering machine that had burned on an ardmoire in the living room. The home owner had no working smoke detectors. The home was ventillated and fire fighters installed smoke detectors.
Shorewood
- Construction crews accidentally hit a gas line at the intersection of East Lake Bluff Boulevard and East Stowell Avenue around 7:48 a.m. Oct. 18. The intersection was temporairly blocked off and WE Energies was called to clamp the line and stop the leak.
- There was a false fire alarm at 9:49 a.m. on Oct. 18 at Lake Bluff Elementary School when an unknown person pulled the fire alarm.
- At 4:15 p.m. Oct. 20, a vehicle hit a pedestrain in the 1300 block of East Capitol Drive. The victim told NSFD she had no complaints and did not need medical attention.
