NSFD Reports: Fires at the Portico's, Stuck in an Elevator and Woman Hits Police Car
The latest reports from the North Shore Fire Department.

The North Shore Fire Department responded to a total of 131 calls for service, 99 EMS calls, and 32 fire and rescue calls from May 16 to 22 throughout the North Shore.
Here is a summary of the calls from Fox Point, Bayside, Whitefish Bay and Shorewood.

- Just after 8 p.m. on May 16, the NSFD responded to a fire call at the Portico's Apartments, 500 W. Bradley Rd. Residents had been evacuated outside and no one was found inside. The fire had begun in a single apartment. In the bedroom, on a small table next to the bed, NSFD found melted candles and insense that had started the carpet below it on fire. There is fire and smoke damage to multiple apartments and the third floor lobby. Damage is estimated around $100,000.
- On May 21, there was another fire at the Portic's Apartments around 4:42 p.m. Clothes were on fire within a dryer and were extinguished with a pump can. The fire did not spread to drywall or any other part of the complex. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
- In the 7700 block of Club Circle, NSFD removed someone from a stuck elevator in a private home on May 16 just before 9 p.m.
Whitefish Bay
- On East Lexington Boulevard and Santa Monical Boulevard, a woman had a medical event when she hit a stop sign and a parked police car at very slow speeds just before 11 a.m. on May 20. There was little to no damage to the police car nor the driver of either vehicle, except that the woman could not explain how it all happened.
