Police Report: Fox Point Gosling Euthanized After Being Shot With Arrow

A Fox Point family of geese are one less after one of the five goslings was shot with a carbon arrow.

According to the report:

A resident called on June 21 to report that she had found a goose injured by an arrow. She said there’s a family of geese that live on the grounds of the complex, two adults and five larger goslings. She told police the group never leaves the complex and the goslings are unable to fly, so the goose had to have been shot at the Porticos.

Police found the geese by the pool and pond area. The injured gosling had a black carbon arrow with green vanes impaled through its back and into the left wing. Police called the Wisconsin Humane Society's animal rehabilitation department and at 11:35 a.m., the goose was safely captured.

The humane society followed up with police the next day and reported that the goose had to be euthanized because the wing was completely shattered and the bird would never have been able to fly.

Police have no suspects at this time.
