An all-out war has been brewing between Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke and Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele over the budget and Clarke's statements about guns.
Waged via Facebook, emails, and in the media, the battle between the two is anything but quiet.Β Clarkeβs latest barb accused Abele of having βpenis envy,β according to a blog on the Journal Sentinel. In the article, Daniel Bice chronicles Clarkeβs frustrations.
On the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page Clarke has been critical of Abele's intelligence.Β

Abele, on the other hand, acts like the smartest guy in the room. That must be quite a heavy burden to walk through life with. The many people in his cabinet that he has hired, only to turn around and soon fire, necessitates that he never leave the Courthouse to educate and develop himself. Heβs smarter than everyone else. Apparently the county executive doesnβt trust his staff like Clarke trusts his.
But Clarkeβs disdain for Abele stems from the cuts Abele has made to Clarkeβs budget. He again called Abele out on Facebook:

Abele's true colors are revealed in this e-mail. When asked, he continually looks into the camera of the media and tells them that by cutting my budget, laying off deputies and usurping the constitutional authority of the sheriff, that his actions are not personal. Oh really?
While Clarkeβs call forΒ Β a number pro-gun supporters have backed Clarke on Facebook.
Still, Abele has been mute on Clarke's actions and he wants "civility from all sides," Bice wrote.
