Snow Cancellation Causes Shoving Match at Child Care Center

The latest Fox Point police reports also include underage drinking at Cardinal Stritch University and a domestic disturbance on Barnett Lane.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman lost her temper when the YMCA Dunwood Child Care Center closed due to snow last week.

The woman took her child to the YMCA facility at 6:47 a.m. Feb 27 only to find the child care center was closed. She banged on the door of the building until she caught the attention of an employee. When the employee opened the door to explain, the woman grabbed the door and attempted to force her way in.

The employee admitted to pushing the woman to keep her from entering the building, but the employee also said the woman was pushing her.

The woman then called the police to report the employee pushed her in the abdomen. She said she was upset because she needed to go to work and she had no place for her son to go.

Neither the employee nor the mother were cited as a result of the incident.
