Wilson Granted New Attorney for Competency Hearing in Murder Case

Competency hearing rescheduled for Wednesday.

The competency hearing Monday for Richard Wilson, , was delayed until Wednesday when his family filed for a new attorney.

As he was escorted into the courtroom by the bailiff, Wilson had a somber face, calmly glancing around the room at the roughly 15 people who attended.

"The purpose of today's hearing was to go over the issue of the defendant's competency," Judge William Domina said. "However, I understand that the there will be a change in counsel?"

According to online court records, the Wilson family has retained attorney Michael Steinle to replace his current attorney, Jennifer Dorow.

The 17-year-old Fox Point native has been charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide for killing his grandfather, Ron Siepmann, when the two were alone during a family gathering at Siepmann’s home on Mother's Day. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

The review hearing has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Judge Domina excused Dorow from Wednesday's review hearing where Steinle will represent Wilson.
