Green Bay, Wis - The Greater Green Bay Chamber is excited to welcome Emily Bangen as a Youth Apprenticeship manager, a workforce development program for local high school juniors and seniors.
Originally from central Illinois, Bangen is a recent University of Wisconsin-Green Bay alum who decided to stay in the area and previously worked for Loyality in Green Bay as a marketing coordinator. In her previous role, she specialized in community outreach, social media, graphic design and assisted the project management team. “I am looking forward to working more with area students,” said Bangen. “They are the future of Northeast Wisconsin, so I believe a program like [Youth Apprenticeship] is extremely beneficial to the students and to our community overall.”

The Youth Apprenticeship program is a talent acquisition strategy from the Department of Workforce Development that the Greater Green Bay Chamber coordinates for area businesses and high school students. The program allows employers to hire high school juniors and seniors for a one- or two-year apprenticeship where the student continues toward graduation while taking courses related to the professional field. This has helped students with a head start in their preferred profession after high school and has helped businesses build their talent pool.
“We are so excited to welcome Emily to the team, which signifies the expansion of our Youth Apprenticeship program,” said Eric Vanden Heuvel, vice president of talent and education at the Greater Green Bay Chamber. “As we build out our talent support strategies, Emily will be able to increase both the number of students and businesses served by the program. I am excited for her to build connections and create opportunities for everyone in our community.”
