Green Bay, Wis. - (May 27, 2021) – The Urban Hub co-working space, powered by the Greater Green Bay Chamber, shared several updates at the Chamber’s Welcome Back Urban Hub event yesterday, May 26. These included introducing the Urban Hub as the new home of the Tundra Angels angel networking group, new banking partner Greenleaf Bank, new Urban Hub Community Manager Lamarr Banks and several enhancements to the co-working space located in the heart of the Rail Yard Innovation District in downtown Green Bay.

Currently, more than 20 companies call the Urban Hub home for their businesses, using the 24-hour co-working space as their “home base.”

At the event, Tundra Angels Manager Matthew Kee announced the Urban Hub is now the home of the Tundra Angels angel investor group. Tundra Angels. The group, which was established and introduced in fall, recently issued its third investment in a startup business. Tundra Angels’ focus is on startups, particularly early-stage, high-growth companies at the pre-seed or seed stage.

“We’re excited to have this funding mechanism physically located at the Urban Hub, providing easy access to an integral part of an entrepreneur’s journey from ideation to reality,” said Laurie Radke, president and CEO, Greater Green Bay Chamber.

Another resource was announced at the event; Greenleaf Bank, a Northeast Wisconsin community bank, is the official banking partner of the Urban Hub. This is in addition to the official accounting partner of the Urban Hub, Wipfli LLP, which was announced earlier this year. Both will maintain regular hours onsite each month to provide consultations.

“These types of services are fundamental for entrepreneurs’ success and are a valuable extension to the Urban Hub’s offerings,” said Kelly Armstrong, vice president of economic development, Greater Green Bay Chamber. “We are fortunate to have partners who are well-respected experts in their respective fields.”

In that same vein, the Urban Hub announced the addition of Lamarr Banks in the newly-established role of Urban Hub community manager. Banks will be onsite at the co-working space during regular business hours and is charged with both creating value-added programming and the day-to-day operations of the space.

“As the co-working space continues to welcome more entrepreneurs, having a dedicated manager onsite is an important facet of our members’ success,” said Armstrong.

Banks holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and several years’ experience in the financial industry. He will be onsite at a dedicated desk in the facility, which also introduced the expansion of both dedicated desks and floating desk areas in the space in addition to meeting rooms, a board room, event space and private call studios.

Collectively, all these elements help to grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Greater Green Bay, a key initiative of the Greater Green Bay Economic Development Strategic Plan.

The Urban Hub takes concerted measures to ensure the safety of all tenants and guests including daily desk and door handle sanitization, sanitization stations throughout the space, mask usage in group meetings, socially-distanced workspaces and limited conference room attendance to ensure social distancing.
