Green Bay Packers Lose 1st-Round Pick After Aaron Rodgers' Injury
Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles four snaps into his career as a New York Jet, but the injury will negatively impact his old team too.

GREEN BAY, WI — The New York Jets have officially lost quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the season after he tore his Achilles just four snaps in at MetLife Stadium on Monday Night Football. But the injury won't just hurt the Jets.
New York will give the Green Bay Packers a 2024 second-round pick instead of a first-round pick. That's because, under the terms of April's trade, Rodgers had to play in 65 percent of the Jets' offensive snaps this season in order for the Packers to get a first-rounder. That is not happening.
Rodgers will not return this season, ESPN first reported Tuesday. The career of the veteran and future Hall of Famer is also at risk, and it’s possible he will never return to the gridiron.

The Jets were a popular sleeper pick for a deep postseason run entering the year, with the longtime Green Bay quarterback at the helm of a young offensive core.
Now the Jets' future is again at risk as they look to end their 13-year playoff drought.

Meanwhile, things look much brighter for the Packers with their new starting quarterback Jordan Love under center. Love threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay's season-opening 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Packers will stay on the road again this week when they travel to play the 1-0 Atlanta Falcons. Green Bay's first home game is against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 24.
