Miron sues Green Bay over Leicht Memorial Park contract (dailyreporter.com) β A major pavilion project at Leicht Memorial Park is now tied up in court after Neenah-based Miron Construction sued the City of Green Bay, claiming officials ignored state law requiring contracts go to the lowest responsible bidder. The case could delay upgrades to the downtown riverfront park and will get its first Brown County court hearing on Jan. 23, 2026.

2. Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign meets donation goal, Christmas Campaign still short (fox11online.com) β Green Bayβs Salvation Army has hit its Red Kettle goal but is still short of its larger Christmas Campaign target, which funds food, housing and holiday assistance programs year-round. Greater Green Bay needs to close a $260,000 gap by Dec. 31, while Fox Cities is about $150,000 short of its $1 million goal, and both groups are urging last-minute donations.

3. Gas prices continue downward trend as New Year nears (fox11online.com) β Drivers around Green Bay are paying less at the pump, with average gas prices dropping to $2.43 per gallon, down more than 26 cents from last month and last year. Appleton prices are slightly higher, and analysts say national prices could keep slipping into January or February as inventories build.

Green Bay Neighbors Turn Local History Into a Podcast (wixx.com) β Neighbors in Green Bayβs historic Astor neighborhood have launched a volunteer-run podcast, βPlaster + Patina,β to uncover quirky, forgotten, and sometimes spooky stories tied to local homes. Using old newspapers, maps, and archives, they spotlight everything from lost businesses to backyard alligators. The project is drawing residents together, reducing isolation, and already planning a second season.

5. Court hearings continue for man accused of child trafficking, robbery in 2017 (wbay.com) β Brown County prosecutors are still pursuing a 2017 case in which a Milwaukee man is accused of trafficking a 16-year-old and a related Bellevue robbery that involved a Green Bay hotel. The defendant, currently jailed in Georgia, appeared by Zoom as the judge adjusted bond and scheduled his next local court date for Jan. 27.
