An officer found King standing outside a vehicle on a cellphone and approached King, at which point King pointed toward the officer and leaned into his vehicle, pulling out a handgun, Oneida police said. King pointed the weapon at the officer and began firing, and the officer hid behind his police car as the bullets struck the vehicle, according to authorities.
