GREENDALE, WI β€” Two Greendale teachers were recently named 2022 Teacher Fellows by the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, the Greendale School District announced in a news release on April 25.

Greendale Middle School Teacher Bridget Brown and Greendale High School Teacher Julie Hahm were both recognized by the foundation. The program recognizes teaching excellence and innovation, and only 100 educators in the state receive the honor each year, the district's news release said.

Those who receive the honors are selected for an ability to inspire a love of learning and for leadership inside and beyond the classroom.

Brown, an 8th grade English teacher, has been with Greendale Middle School since 2011. Beyond her teaching, she works with students outside of the classroom to help connect students across middle school grades in her role as a Sources of Strength advisor and a Student Mentor Program Coordinator, the news release said.

Jule Hahm, who is in her 12th year as a science teacher at Greendale High School, teaches chemistry and environmental science. As a member of the district's Technology Community, Hahm has helped advance the use of a variety of technology and software in the district, the news release says. Hahm has also introduced students to the Milwaukee County Parks' wetland monitoring program where she and students monitor salamanders, frogs, crayfish and other wildlife, according to the news release.
