Burglar Steals Cash, Cigarettes From Peters Foods In Greendale: Cops

A passerby noticed the front door to Peters Foods was broken early Wednesday morning and the owner soon noticed missing cash, police said.

GREENDALE, WI β€” A burglar broke the front glass door of Peters Foods in Greendale early Wednesday morning and made off with over $300 dollars from the register, according to police.

A passerby had reported seeing the front glass door of the business broken around 4:30 a.m., according to police logs. The key holder came out to the business at 5090 West College Avenue and discovered the cash was taken alongside numerous packs of cigarettes, police logs said.

The suspect is a younger man with a thin build wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and all-black tennis shoes that had a bit of red on them, Greendale police said in a statement to Facebook. Police said they believe he left on foot and was spotted by at least one vehicle in the area.

Officers recovered a landscape block from the scene which seemed to have been outside in the weather for some time and was likely sitting on dirt, police said.

Police asked anyone who may have seen the suspect, and anyone who may be missing a landscape block in the area, to contact them at 414-423-2121. Police said they are also looking for security camera or ring doorbell footage.
