Greendale Approves Big Proposal For Former Boston Store Site
The site of the former Boston Store in Greendale is set to be replaced by hundreds of apartments and thousands of square feet of retail.

GREENDALE, WI β The Greendale Village Board approved a re-development proposal on Tuesday that would bring hundreds of apartments and thousands of square feet of retail space to the former site of Boston Store near Southridge Mall, according to a news release from the village.
The development would create up to 790 apartments comprised of one, two and three-bedroom units with underground parking plus 50,000 square feet of retail space. The proposal would eliminate the former department store and seeks to improve the vitality of Southridge, attract new residents and overall create a new tax base for the village, the news release said.
The proposal comes from Barret Lo Visionary Development, a company that the village says has a track record of success in helping communities create "destination" developments, according to the news release.
