Greendale High School Names 2023 Class Valedictorians

Four graduating Greendale High School students were recognized for their perfect GPAs ahead of Saturday's commencement.

GREENDALE, WI β€” Greendale High School on Monday named the valedictorians of its 2023 graduating class. There are four students who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 4.0, the district said.

The four valedictorians are Noah Adams, Anthony Galusha, Ella Hanizeski and Sophia Thiel. Each will be recognized and share the distinction during Saturday's commencement ceremony. The honorees are among a class of 260 students.

Noah, the child of Jami and Brian Adams, is set to study mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall. Anthony, the child of Sherri Liebscher, is expected to attend the University of Iowa to study actuarial science, according to the district's news release.

Meanwhile, Ella, the child of Emily and Michael Hanizenski, is set to study nursing at the University of Oklahoma. Sophia, the child of Colleen and Cory Thiel, is set to study journalism at the University of Missouri, the news release said.

The district on Monday also announced that Adams and Hanizeski were named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Just 15,000 students make it to the level across the nation each year.

Greendale's commencement for the class of 2023 takes place at the Steven J. Gavinski Stadium at 6801 Southway in Greendale.
