Juvenile Arrested After Boy Shot At Southridge Mall Lot: Police

Greendale police said they arrested a juvenile boy after another boy suffered serious injuries in a shooting at Southridge Mall on Monday.

GREENDALE, WI β€” One juvenile was injured and another was arrested Monday evening after a shooting in the east parking lot of Southridge Mall in Greendale, according to police.

Several 911 calls filtered in around 7 p.m. reporting the shooting near the 5300 block of South 76th Street, Greendale police said in a news release. Police found a boy with a serious gunshot wound and authorities took him to a hospital, police said. The juvenile who was shot is expected to survive.

The suspect had run away from the area, but officers soon found him nearby, police said. Police arrested the juvenile suspect and planned to bring him to the Milwaukee County Juvenile Justice Center, according to the release.

Police did not immediately share the ages of the suspect and the injured besides that they were juveniles.

No threat remains to the public, police said. Authorites asked anyone with information on the shooting to contact the Greendale Police Department at 414-423-2121.
