Multiple Cars Broken Into, Stolen On College Avenue: Greendale PD

Here is your weekly Patch update on police happenings in the Village of Greendale.

GREENDALE, WI β€” The Greendale Police Department reported several cars were broken into or stolen on College Avenue in Greendale between Nov. 5 and 6.

Some people who reported the thefts were relatively lucky, and they only sustained a broken window and a car that was rummaged through. Others had their cars stolen and later recovered. On the topic of vehicle theft, police also reported two bicycles were stolen from Greendale Middle School on Thursday, though police said they reviewed camera footage and cited the suspected thieves.

Several Cars Broken Into Or Stolen On College Avenue

Greendale Police logs show several people reported their cars broken into or stolen on Nov. 6. The reported crimes likely occurred the night before. The thefts mostly took place between the 4800 and 5000 blocks of College Avenue. At least three cars were stolen at three other cars were broken into.

Police logs said two cars at apartments on 4800 College Avenue had their windows smashed that night. The cars were rummaged through but nothing was reported stolen.

Two different callers from apartments at 4800 College were not so lucky. Police logs said two cars were stolen and all that was left was glass on the ground. Only one of those cars was later recovered, logs said.

Another caller on Nov. 6 told police their car was stolen from 5000 College Avenue. The vehicle was eventually found in Franklin. Another car's window was reported broken on Nov. 6 on 6200 51st Street. Logs suggest these incidents are related.

Traffic Stop On Loomis Road And Ramsey Avenue

A traffic stop on Loomis and Ramsey Tuesday ended in a man being booked for what would be his 2nd OWI, police logs said.

Martin Luther Student's Dizziness Was Possibly Because THC Edible

According to police logs: A 911 call was received from Martin Luther High School on Wednesday. A female student was in the school's office feeling dizzy and possibly under the influence. A school investigation found a student brought a THC edible to school. The student was cited and released to parents.

Two Arrested After Dick's Sporting Goods Retail Theft

Two women were reported to be ripping tags of merchandise at Dick's Sporting Goods on Nov. 5. One was cited for retail theft and possession of marijuana. Police said the other woman was discovered to have warrants in Waukesha County so she was sent to the Waukesha County Jail, police logs said.
