Police Give Update After Threat At Greendale Middle School
After a shooting threat at Greendale Middle School on Nov. 21, police said a student will be referred to the Milwaukee Children's Center.

GREENDALE, WI β Greendale police found that a student was connected with the Nov. 21 shooting threat at Greendale Middle School, the agency announced Tuesday.
The threat was discovered by authorities around 11:15 a.m. that day through social media, prompting additional security and an investigation, but it was found to not be credible, police said. The social media post in question came from a fake screen name that was found to be associated with a student, according to police.
The middle school was placed in a secure on Nov. 21, with learning shifting to virtual until after the school's Thanksgiving break, according to a report by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The student will be referred to the Milwaukee County Children's Center for charges, police said.
"The Greendale Police Department cannot stress strongly enough the importance of talking with your children about the dangers of social media and the serious consequences that may result from making threats against the school," the news release said.
