Resident Lost $24,000 To Romance Scam, Fight At Walmart:GPD Logs

Also: Someone was cited for harassment after a resident said they kept driving by their house and 'flipping them off.'

GREENDALE, WI β€” A Greendale resident apparently kept getting the middle finger from someone who regularly drove by their house, another neighbor may have lost $24,000 in a romance scam, and a fight broke out in the Walmart parking lot, according to Greendale's police call logs.

Resident Loses Thousands In Romance Scam

A resident met a man online in February. Ever since then, the two have been in communications. Police say the Greendale resident contacted authorities Monday, though, to report the relationship may have been a romance scam.

The woman ended up giving the man $24,000, police logs said.

Gun Stolen From Car

A resident told police their gun, wallet, child support card and social security card were stolen from their car Sunday. The victim did not realize until Tuesday, police logs said.

The items were stolen from a car parked in a driveway on 5500 Root River Drive, logs said.

Person Cited For Harassment After Giving The Middle Finger

A resident on Dale Lane filed a complaint about harassment with Greendale police last week, logs said. The resident told police that someone has been repeatedly driving by his house and flipping him the middle finger. Police logs said the drive-by bird-flipping has been going on for some time, and a citation for harassment was mailed.

Fight Breaks Out In Walmart Parking Lot

Police received several calls Wednesday about a fight in the parking lot of Walmart on 5300 76th Street. One victim of the fight told police someone revved their engine and then got out of the car to fight with him, logs said.

A citation for disorderly conduct was filed.
