Staying Cool Around Racine County During Wisconsin's Heat Advisory
Here are some ways to catch relief from the heat in and around Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant as high heat grips much of Wisconsin.
RACINE COUNTY, WI β As a heat index between 100 and 105 sweeps into much of Wisconsin, including Racine County, officials are reminding people how to stay safe and offering public places to catch a break.
Forecasters expect high heat in much of southeastern Wisconsin on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the highest heat indexes expected during the afternoon. The heat comes just after thunderstorms knocked out the power to thousands of We Energies customers, possibly leaving some without air conditioning.
Some outages affecting thousands lingered in Milwaukee's southern communities into Tuesday morning. We Energies said it expects all outages to be resolved or be assigned by 7 p.m.
