Walk To Remember The Fallen: Greendale Memorial Day Ceremony Planned
A Memorial Day ceremony is planned for Monday morning in Greendale with a walk, prayers of remembrance, TAPS and more.

GREENDALE, WI β Plans to recognize Memorial Day in Greendale on Monday include the Walk to Remember the Fallen, a brief ceremony, a pancake breakfast and more.
The annual federal holiday honors and remembers soldiers across the U.S. who have died while serving our country. People started observing the day as early as 1868, when Union Gen. James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetary, according to PBS.
The day is separate from other holidays recognizing America's soldiers. While Memorial Day honors those who have died in service, Veterans Day in November honors all who have served.
