WisDOT Details Summer Construction Near Greendale and Franklin
The construction will take place on S. 76th Street, north of Rawson Avenue, and involve bridge rehab and pavement and signal work.
GREENDALE, WI βThe Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region has released details about roadwork that will take place this summer on S. 76th Street, north of Rawson Avenue, in Milwaukee County.
The construction will include bridge rehabilitation and painting, in addition to work on concrete pavement and approaches, curbs and gutters, pavement markings and signals, according to WisDOT.
Officials said construction is set to begin on June 22 with bridge painting. The roadway work is scheduled to start in late August and be completed by late fall.

WisDOT also has released details about how traffic might be impacted during the project.
While bridge painting is taking place, there will be single-lane closures on Loomis Road, though there is a potential for overnight closures. When full closures exist, drivers will be asked to follow a posted detour route.

Additionally, the roadwork is expected to impact S. 76th Street, which will be reduced to a single lane in each direction in order to accommodate a staging area for repairs and deck overlay.
Residents and business owners who want to learn more about the project and its impacts on traffic patterns are invited to a pre-construction open house, where the construction project team will be present to offer details and answer questions.
The two-hour session is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the Fadrow Room at the Franklin Public Library, located at 9151 West Loomis Road in Franklin.
