Mako Aquatics Competes at Speedo Winter Junior Championships

Mako Aquatics’ Andrew Hanson and Ellery Ottem (University of South Carolina '23 commit) participated in the Speedo Winter Junior Championships in Austin Texas, December 7-10, 2022 where many of the best 18&u athletes in the United States competed. Andrew raced to multiple top 24 swims (500 free 22nd, 1650 24th) while Ellery finished 12th in the 200 free. In addition, Andrew competed in the 50/100/200 free and Ellery in the 50/100/500 free & 200 fly).

Andrew posted best times in all of his events while Ellery raced to season bests in hers and a personal best in the 500 free. Each of their swims resulted in new Mako Aquatics Team Records.

Hanson - 50 free (20.98), 100 free (45.27), 200 free (1:39.91), 500 free (4:27.27), 1000 (9:20.45 split), 1650 (15:34.54)

Ottem - 50 free (23.66), 100 free (50.53), 200 free (1:47.92), 500 free (4:54.69), 200 fly (2:04.33)
