Now it's going to federal court (hudsonstarobserver.com) — Hudson parents in the Save Our Schools-Hudson group have taken their fight over closing Houlton and Willow River Elementary to federal court after first suing in St. Croix County. The lawsuit challenges the school board’s October decision and fast timeline for reassigning students and selling buildings, while some residents are also circulating recall petitions against board members who supported the closures.
   

• The Scoop: It's been an up-and-down junior golf career for Drake Card, but the Hudson senior is up for chance of a lifetime, commits to UWGB (wisconsin.golf) — Hudson senior golfer Drake Card has committed to play for UW-Green Bay after a rollercoaster high school and junior golf career. Card, a Big Rivers Conference player of the year and state runner-up, has surged back into Wisconsin’s top junior rankings and will join a growing group of in-state talents helping rebuild the Phoenix men’s golf program.
   

• Timothy E Lee (beloitdailynews.com) — Hudson readers are connected to this loss through Timothy E. Lee’s daughter, Christine, who lives in Hudson. The longtime engineer and hunter safety instructor died at 76 after retiring to Arkdale, where he enjoyed outdoor activities, community life, and time with his children and grandchildren. No services will be held, per his wishes.
